The Auckland Fury Inline Hockey Club was established in 1998 to cater for players in the central & west Auckland isthmus area.

In 1999 there were 80 NZIHA registered players in 7 teams in the Northern Regional Leagues.

Fury is associated with Faceoff which offers introductory programs to new players. In 1999 there were 200 Faceoff players in the Faceoff programs.
