NZIHA - Advertising on Uniform Policy

This document is to be read in conjuction with Rule 307

from the current NZIHA Rule Book

1.      The centre front of the playing jersey  must be reserved for the club’s official logo, regardless of whether the logo is on the jersey or not. If club logos are not on the jersey then this area must remain reserved for the Club Official Logo.  Advertising logos may be affixed to the lower back  and lower front of the player jersey using the space bounded by the width of the jersey x 12 cm high from the lower edge of the jersey. The number of advertising  logos is limited to three per jersey.

2.      Jerseys must be worn outside of the pants.

3.      Individual  player sponsorship arrangements must not conflict with the requirement for the team to be uniformly dressed.

4.      Advertising logos must not interfere with club logos, player numbers and  player names - these must remain clearly visible to game officials. There must be approx 10cm of "clear" space separating the club logo  and player number from any advertising logos.

5.      If a proposed logo is larger than these specifications written permission from NZIHA must first be obtained. Where there is doubt about the acceptability of advertising on team uniforms the advice and permission of NZIHA shall be sought.

6.      The wearing of advertising logos  on clothing and equipment should be guided by the principle that the basic  uniform colour should cover approximately 80% of each item, excluding player name and number.
