INTER REGIONAL Championships  TOURNAMENT RULES  2003

 

1.                Rules of Play shall be the NZIHA Inline Hockey Official Rulebook 2002 edition including the NZIHA addenda. Any interpretations or amendments will be advised via the Official Noticeboard. The Tournament shall be conducted according to NZIHA B-Laws, NZIHA Playing Rules, and the Inter-Regional 2003 Event Notice.

 

2.                Players must have been NZIHA registered by 31 July 2003 for a NZIHA club within the region represented.  

 

3.                All team members, including officials, must be identified at the beginning of the tournament and team rosters cannot be added to during the tournament.  A maximum of 4 Team officials will be allowed on a team’s bench. All officials must be registered with the NZIHA and must produce proof of registration if asked for.

 

4.                Players may play for one and only one team throughout the tournament.

 

5.                It is the responsibility of an official from each team to check that the team roster is correctly recorded on the Official Score Sheet and to initial the score sheet before EVERY GAME. Tournament Organisers may not be held responsible for omissions or errors in team rosters on the official score sheets.

 

6.                Stop-Time will be played in the final two minutes of each game provided that the score is within one goal or tied. Once Stop-Time has commenced it will continue regardless of what the scores become.

 

7.                There will be no overtimes as a tied result is acceptable

 

8.                The game clock will be stopped at the referees’ discretion. Timekeepers may not stop the game clock unless directed to do so by the referee.  The only exception will be stop-time as set down in clause 6 of these rules.

 

9.                The score as shown on the electronic score board is subject to final confirmation upon completion and checking of the NZIHA Official Score Sheet.

 

10.             The Tournament organisers reserve the right to:

 

(i)               Alter the schedule of games in the case of unforeseen circumstances. All changes will be advised via the Official Noticeboard.

(ii)              Make whatever operational changes that are deemed necessary to provide optimum playing conditions. Any changes will be advised via the Official Noticeboard.

 

11.             Teams must be ready to play 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of their games. Tournament organisers reserve the right to start games up to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

 

12.             All players in a team are to wear matching jerseys and are to wear their club pants or regional team pants as directed by their Coach.

 

13.             For a violation of Rule 304 (a) where a player is wearing non-approved equipment (helmet, facial protection), or is not wearing the proper mandatory equipment, or is not wearing the equipment in a manner for which it is intended, the player will be ruled off the playing surface and will not be allowed to return until such equipment has been replaced or corrected. The Referee will issue a warning to the offending team. For a second violation by any player of the same team for the same offence previously warned during the same game, the Referee shall assess a Bench Minor Penalty to the offending team.

 

14.             The official tournament puck is to be an IDS puck for all games.

 

15.             A Tournament Disciplinary Committee will deal with all penalties, disputes and protests.  The decision of the Tournament Disciplinary Committee is final.

 

16.             Protests must be notified to the Chief Referee at the rink by the Captain of the protesting team immediately after the game and in writing no later than 30 minutes after the completion of the game and be accompanied by a fee of $100.00, which is refundable if protest upheld.

 

17.             It is a condition of entry to the Inter Regional Championships that teams agree to fulfil their rostered Goal Judging duties.

 

18.             If there is a tie in the standings at the end of the round robin the NZIHA policy on “Final Standings” will apply.

 

19.             The formula for determining the winner of the Inter-Regional Trophy is that published in the Inter-Regional 2003 Event Notice.

 

20.             It is not permitted for any individual or group, except those expressly authorised by NZIHA, to sell any goods (including food), or engage in any fundraising activities inside or in the immediate vicinity of the Arena during the Inter-Regional Championships.

 

21.             The Tournament Managers reserve the right to exclude from the building (and the tournament) any individual or group.  In particular, anyone engaging in acts of vandalism, or in violent, abusive, dishonest, offensive or other such behaviours may be excluded from the building for the duration of the Tournament.

 

22.             Skates must not be worn upstairs in the arena.

TEAM MANAGERS MEMO

 

Welcome to the seventh Inter Regional Championships, this year being held at Arena 4, Palmerston North.

 

Please note the following;

1.                Team packs are available from the rink office.  These contain entry passes and lanyards for each player and team official.

2.                Any additional passes MUST be returned to the rink office, they are not transferable.

3.                If you require additional passes please advise the Duty Manager at the Rink Office.

4.                Please complete the contact form when you collect your player and official entry passes.

5.                Scoresheeets are held at the rink office.  Team Managers must check all details on the scoresheet prior to the commencement of each game. You must add you C’s and A’s and indicate the Goalies if not already marked.  Tournament Organisers may not be held responsible for omissions or errors in team rosters on the official score sheets.

6.                Teams are allocated changing rooms.  A roster in held in the rink office.  To ensure the player’s belongings are secure the Team Manager is to collect and sign for the changing room key and return and sign it back in after the team has finished using the changing room.  Please try to return the key promptly.

7.                Teams waiting to start their game MUST NOT proceed to the player benches.  They must wait by the double doors near the rink office until the teams on the rink have completed their handshakes. 

8.                Teams leaving the rink after their game will leave the rink from their bench and will leave by way of the narrow space around the outside of the rink.

9.                Team Officials must carry all drink bottles around the outside of the rink.  No water bottles are to be carried across the rink.

10.             Please advise your players that it is not advisable to leave bags unattended in the building.

11.             Goal judging duties – All teams will be allocated goal judging duties. Please ensure you have an experienced person.  Goal judges must be over 16 years of age.

12.             Players are not permitted to chew gum while on the playing surface.   It can create a nuisance on the rink and is, also a potential safety issue.
