Subject: World Champs Selection Availability

 

Interested players are asked to indicate their availability for selection for the forthcoming World Championships to be hosted by IIHF in Germany in July 2003.

 

Estimated Costs                               $3500 per player

Travel Dates                       July 8th - July 21st, 2003

Selection Camp                 Proposed May 24th – 25th 2003 (to be confirmed)

Team Announced               On conclusion of selection camp   

Deposit Required              $500 at Selection Camp  (refunded to unsuccessful trialists)

Full payment                    Balance (approx $3000) due by 8 June

Training Camp Fee           $40 ( payable at selection camp)

Selection Venue                 Arena Manawatu

 

Players who have declared their availability will be viewed at Oceania Champs by the NZ Senior Coach in consultation with the coaches of the 18 & Under and 20 & Under NZ teams who will form the selection committee.

In addition players who are NOT attending Oceania are asked to indicate their interest by April 20th.

The selection committee will  compile a list of players to form a World Champs trial squad. These players will be sent an invitation to trial  and will come together on a weekend in May ( 24th-25th May, ). At the conclusion of this weekend camp, the World Champs team will be announced, a team of 16 field players and two goalies will be selected.

Successful players will be required to attend  further training camp(s)  prior to departure for Germany.

 

If available for selection, complete the details below and post to Box 7014, New Plymouth, Fax to: 06 759 8455 or hand in to Oceania training camp office before 3pm on Sunday ( March 30th).  All notifications must be received by NZIHA by 20th April at the latest.

I accept that, if selected to trial, a  deposit of $500 is  required to take part in the Selection Camp.  This is non-refundable if, once selected,  I withdraw from the team. I further agree  that payment in full for travel and accommodation (approx $3500) is payable by 8 June.
