SELECTION PROCESS for NZ WORLD CUP TEAM

At the NZ Oceania teams training camps for 18 & Under, 20 & Under and Senior Men all players will be notified by way of a newsletter of the forthcoming World Championships, the selection process and the approximate costs per player. Players will be asked to return a form indicating their availability for selection. Players who have declared their availability will be viewed at the Oceania Championships. The coaches of the NZ 18 & Under, NZ 20 & Under, and the NZ Senior Men’s Teams will form the selection committee. This selection committee will compile a list of players to form the World Championships Trial Squad which will come together for a weekend in late May ( dates to be announced). At the conclusion of this weekend camp, a team of 16 field players and two goalies will be announced.

Clubs and Regions:

are advised that if there are players who are not included in an Oceania team and are available for selection and who, in their opinion, are disadvantaged by this process, they should inform the NZIHA Secretary in writing by April 20th, 2003. with details of the player’s name and relevant information. This will be passed on to the Trial Squad Selection Panel for consideration.
