Inter-Regional Championship
The Inter-Regional Championship
is staged annually as the culmination of the inline hockey season. The Inter-Regional Trophy is awarded to the
Region with the most points in the Championship.
Organising Authority:
The
organising authority for the Inter-Regional Championship is the NZIHA.
In
2001 the NZIHA has delegated the organisation of the Championship to the Lower
North Island Regional Committee in accordance with the policy that the region
which holds the Inter-Regional Trophy.is the host of the Championship.
Rules:
NZIHA rules will apply. The IIHF
Official Rulebook with the NZ addendum and IIHF Year 2001 Modifications will be
used.
Teams:

In each grade the recommended
team size is 12 field players and two goalies.
Each team may have a maximum of four team officials. Please note that no unregistered team
official will be permitted on or near the playing benches.

Each Regional
Committee shall be responsible for the organisation of :-

the selection of
teams
-
the coaching of teams
-
the teams’ playing uniforms
·
All players in a team
must be in matching jerseys and must wear their club playing pants or regional
team pants as directed by their Coach.
On and Off Floor Officials:
All regions will be rostered on for
goal judging, scoring, and timekeeping throughout the tournament. Please be
ready 30 minutes before the rostered times.
In order to officiate
as a referee, timekeeper or scorer at the Inter-Regional Championship it is
necessary to hold current NZIHA registration
Date, Venue, Entries, Entry Fees:

The Inter-Regional
Championship will be held at the Jubilee Stadium 19-22 October.

The closing date for
team entries shall be 10 October 2001.
·
The closing date for
notification of team rosters shall be 14 days prior to the start of the
Championship. Team rosters may not be
added to after the start of the Championship.

The entry fee is $210.00 (GST inclusive) per team. This is payable to the Lower North Island Regional
Committee by Regional Committees no later than 14 days prior to the start of
the Championship.
Eligibility:
·
Each region may enter
one team in each of the following grades :
Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16,
Under 18, Senior, Premier, Senior
Women and Masters.
·
All players must be
currently registered with NZIHA for a NZIHA Club within
the region represented.
Format:
·
Teams must be ready to play 30 minutes before the scheduled playing
time.
Points:
In
each game the points awarded shall be two points for a win and zero points for
a loss.
The
players and team officials in the:
· third placed team in each grade shall be awarded bronze medals
First
in Grade - 3 points
Second
in Grade - 2 points
Third
in Grade - 1 point
Fourth
in Grade - 0 point
The Region with the most Grade
points is the winning Region.
2.
If, after Grade
Points are accounted for, two or more regions are tied, the winning
region shall be determined by a “head-to-head “ calculation
comparing the tied
teams.
3. In the event that a tie still exists after steps 1 and 2, the
winning region shall be
the region winning the most first places comparing the tied teams.
