Subject:Nationals Draw and Information

The NZIHA advises and reminds all participating clubs of the following :

1. All teams must be uniformly dressed ( jerseys and leg apparel)

2. All team rosters are required by September 13. (TODAY) Please fax to 06 759-8445

3.Payment of $250 plus GST ( $281.25) is due with entry - if faxing please put payment in the post immediately ( to Box 7014, New Plymouth)

4. There will be an end of TOURNAMENT SOCIAL on Saturday 30 September at the TAUPO BOWLING CLUB ( opposite the Taupo Yacht Club) Tickets will be on sale at Nationals for $15 each. Ticket price includes DJ - MUSIC, dancing, delicious supper- a cash bar will be operating on the premises - 8.30pm to midnight. (limited to 200 tickets)

Tournament Rules…. National Championships 2000

1. Players must be NZIHA registered with the club entering the team, and must be eligible to compete in the National Championships.
2. Players may play for one and only one team throughout the tournament.
3. All team members must be identified at the beginning of the tournament and team rosters cannot be added to during the tournament.
  1. Rules of Play shall be the Official Rule Book – NZIHA 1998 edition. Any interpretations or amendments shall be advised via the Stadium Notice Board.
  2. Games will be of two 20 minute periods. Stop Time will be played in semi-finals and finals in the final two minutes only if the game is tied or within one goal. Note:- once stop time has begun in the final two minutes it must continue for the rest of the game excluding overtime periods.
  3. In semi-finals and finals if the game is tied at the end of normal play there will be a 5-minute ‘sudden death’ period. If the result is still tied at the end of the extra period a penalty shoot out will take place.
  4. The game clock will be stopped at the referees’ discretion. With the exception of stop time as set down in Clause 5 of these rules, timekeepers may not stop the game clock unless directed to do so by the referee.
  5. The score on the electronic Score Board is subject to final confirmation upon completion of the Official Score Sheet.
  6. The Tournament Organisers reserve the right to alter the schedule of games in the case of unforeseen circumstances. All changes will be notified on the Stadium Notice Board.
  7. Teams must be ready to play 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of their Games. Tournament Organisers reserve the right to start games up to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
  8. All players in a team are to be uniformly dressed (i.e. jerseys and leg apparel). The Tournament Organisers may, at their discretion, refuse to allow to participate in a game (or games) any players not in team uniform – i.e. jersey and leg apparel.
  9. A Tournament Disciplinary Committee will deal with all disciplinary matters.
  10. Protests must be notified to the Head Referee at the rink by the captain of the protesting team and in writing no later than 30 minutes after the completion of the game and be accompanied by a fee of $30.
  11. It is a condition of entry to the National Championships that clubs be rostered for various duties throughout the tournament. Failure to fulfil this obligation may result in disciplinary action.
  12. All skates must be rink friendly – e.g. flush mount axle bolts
  13. Skates may not be worn in spectator areas, the entrance foyer, or up the stairs.

6. Helmets MUST be officially approved for in-line hockey.

7. The NZIHA urgently require names of EXPERIENCED Scorers and Timekeepers willing to assist with duties at Nationals - please advise names by fax to (06)759-8445 immediately. Thanks you

8. Taupo Events Centre - Stadium Rules

  1. NO roller-blades are permitted to be worn in the Centre except from Changing Rooms to Rink.
  2. NO food is to be eaten on the stadium floor ( including team bench areas).
  3. ONLY re-sealing drink bottles ( sipper) are allowed on the stadium floor ( including team bench areas).
  4. ONLY players and officials are permitted on stadium floor.
  5. PLAYERS must show their PLAYER PASS to reception to receive discount on pool entry.
  6. PLAYERS must NOT enter the pools without reporting to reception.
  7. TAUPO EVENTS CENTRE is not responsible for damage to or loss of property. Please ensure any gear or valuables are hidden from view if kept in car.
  8. NO Smoking or consumption of alcohol on the premises ( including car parks)
