New Zealand take
silver with a 4 - 5 loss to Brazil (on a "golden goal" 4 minutes
into extra time). The period scores were ( 1-0,2-1,1-2,0-1,0-1
). New Zealand led throughout the game until Brazil clawed back
a draw in the 4th period.
It is interesting to note that all of the Division
semi-finalists came from Pool D after New Zealand and Hungary
played "upset" games against teams from the other pool. (New
Zealand (3rd in pool D) won against Japan (2nd in pool C), and
Hungary (4th in Pool D) won against Britain (1st in Pool C).)
Pools C & D comprise countries
ranked 9th to 16th. New Zealand was ranked 15th and Brazil
ranked 11th going into the Championship. The 3-4 finalists
Australia and Hungary were ranked 14th and 10th respectively.

The 2007 New Zealand Open Team
have their Silver Medals in Germany.

The United States and Finland playing at the 2007 World
Championships
Finland won 7-4.
